Inventoried AISI (American Iron and Steel Institute) alloy steel plate is sourced in the As Rolled and Annealed conditions. Custom parts are typically heat treated to achieve the desired physical properties. Consider purchasing alloy steel plates due to their superior strength, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and heat resistance over standard carbon steel. These properties make them ideal for demanding applications requiring high durability and performance in harsh environments, particularly under heavy loads and extreme conditions, thanks to the addition of alloying elements like chromium, nickel, and molybdenum.
While not as readily machinable as some carbon steels, certain alloy steel grades can be machined with Farwest’s knowledge and expertise.
